"Palembang is one of the oldest cities located on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. It was ruled under independent sultanate until 1821, when Dutch East India company took over and ended local Sultanate Coinage.
The pitis coins were cast in " trees" then broken of the trunks. The values were very small , the hole coines were traded as strings (as were Chinese cash).
Coin Material were Tin alloyed with lead(except for one Bronze issue).
